A walk through Central Park

Strolling through the lung of Manhattan is one of the favourite activities of many New Yorkers and, obviously, tourists. Perhaps most magical thing about this huge park is that every time you visit it has something new to offer. For the multifarious characters you are bound to come across, for the film sets you will stumble onto, for the groups of skaters, the flocks of Japanese tourists, the palette of colours offered by the trees and plants, for the events taking place all around you, and for the many other things you are sure to come across when you visit the park… Here we  ...

The High Line Park in New York, an oasis at 9 meters high

On occasion our customers become our best guides. And on this particular occasion, Alba Garcia has sent us some great pictures of her very recent trip to New York. They’re fabulous. From the bottom of my heart, a huge THANK YOU 🙂 Among the many photographs she sent us, we have chosen a few of The High Line Park. Do you know what I’m talking about? The High Line was originally built in the 30s in an effort to raise freight trains above the city streets. I’m sure you’ve seen this in films. Today, however, this track has become completely obsolete, and since 2008 has  ...

And today we publish the proposed itinerary for the seventh day. That’s right…the final day… Boo-hoo… But never mind, once you realise what we have planned for you today, that frown will be turned upside down. You must take advantage of your week in New York! So, now that we’re on the 5th day of our tour, which has been the most exciting day for you so far? This way you can relax a little before the itinerary we have prepared for the seventh and final day. Without further ado, what’s on the menu for today? A stroll along the Museum Mile, taking in at least two or three museums along the way. But that’s not all, you’ll see…  ...

Guide to a full week in New York. Day 5

If the fourth day of our week-long itinerary of New York took us through the Midtown district, the proposal for this fifth day is a stroll through Central Park in the morning and the Upper West Side in the afternoon. In other words, the west side of Central Park. If you took our advice, yesterday you should have visited the Top of the Rock observatory, from where you would have been able to admire Central Park from above. Wonderful, right? Well, this fifth day in Manhattan begins precisely here, in the true lung of New York. But before giving you the map, you have to decide how you want  ...

Guide to a full week in New York. Day 3

Well, we’ve been setting a very good pace. The first day we visited Downtown, the second we were in SoHo, Little Italy and Chinatown. Today, we will discover the Village and, more specifically, Greenwich Village. Naturally enough, this is one of the most interesting neighbourhoods in Manhattan. In former times it was a separate locality. An entirely separate village created in the early 18th century. But if this neighbourhood is known for anything, it’s for being a true power-house for the arts. Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, Barbra Streisand, Simon & Garfunkel and Nina Simone  ...

There are plenty of wonderful places to refuel 🙂 Today we begin the itinerary in TriBeCa, then Chinatown, Little Italy, NoLita and SoHo. A breeze, right?! Let’s get going. This is the map for the morning itinerary. We start at a place you visited yesterday, at City Hall Park (A). Remember?  ...

Guide to a full week in New York. Day 1

You’ve arrived at the airport. You’ve passed the endless controls. You’ve left your bags at the hotel… New York awaits you. Technically, from 14th Street to the south is the Downtown district. However, this neighbourhood includes many districts: the Financial district, Chinatown, Little Italy, TriBeCa, The Village, SoHo… the south of the island of Manhattan being the district with the most historic locations in all New York. This is hardly surprising, as it all started here. This is precisely the place we recommend beginning your first day’s itinerary  ...
